Biography

I am from Azpeitia, in the Urola Valley of central Gipuzkoa, in the Basque Country, north of Spain, and I am currently a Spanish Linguistics M.A. student at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. I earned my B.A. degree in Linguistics and English Studies in 2016 at the University of the Basque Country (UPV/EHU), where I graduated as Valedictorian with the highest distinction.

In the past, my work has examined the influence of L1 phonology on L2 Basque & L2 Spanish production.  Furthermore, under the direction of Prof. José Ignacio Hualde, I have conducted research projects on Azpeitia Basque and on distinct accentual systems in Basque varieties.
